Sri Lanka has a population of 20 million people, with an estimated 22% being the urban poor. 50 to 60% of the over 2.3 million people living in Colombo, the capital city, are estimated to live in slums. We aim to build to 10 houses every year for the needy and homeless. Beneficiaries who benefit from house building projects are,
- People who have lost their house due to disasters
- People who live under poverty line (Less than $2 or £1.90 income per day)
- People who have lost their house due to loan
- Widows who are most likely to become homeless
It costs us approximately Rs. 3,800,000.00 (£9,000+ / $10,000+) build a standard home. We maintain utmost transparency in implementing our housing projects. Donors have full access to our resources and finance tracking. They can also speak to beneficiaries if they are willing to. Your few pounds can make a big difference. Contribute to Housing Project and Give them Hope.
